Mahesh Babu's Spyder rights sold for a whopping price

Superstar Mahesh Babu's Spyder has been sold for Rs 15.5 crore, say reports.

After Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Mahesh Babu's action thriller Spyder is perhaps the most awaited Telugu film this year. The film marks Mahesh's first collaboration with blockbuster filmmaker AR Murugadoss. While the makers have locked the release date of the film, reports suggest that the theatrical rights of Spyder have been sold for a record price.

As per recent reports, the overseas rights of Spyder have been bagged for a whopping price of Rs 15 crore. Earlier to this, the film's Tamil rights was bought by Lyca Productions for Rs 25 crore.

Considering the unprecedented craze it has among the audience, the distributors and theatre owners are expecting high returns. In fact, trade pundits predict that the Mahesh Babu-starrer is likely to do a business of Rs 200 crore at the box office.

Spyder is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual that has music by Harris Jayaraj. The first single Boom Boom will be out today at 6 pm.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film has Rakul Preet Singh and SJ Suryah in pivotal roles.

Spyder, which was supposed to release on June 23, is expected to hit the screens on September 27.Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu will be teaming up with Koratala Siva for Bharat Ane Nenu, which will have Anushka Shetty in a special song.
