Martin Garrix surprise reveals debut album ‘Sentio,’ reunites with Mesto for its second preview, ‘Limitless’

The first-ever Martin Garrix solo album is actually happening.

10 IDs made their way into the STMPD RCRDS boss’ stop at Lollapalooza’s Chile edition to kick off his 2022 tour, the majority of which he’d continually been hinting towards throughout the past handful of months. That new music tally—including the same-day release of his Zedd meeting—hiked up to 12 tracks when Garrix finally reclaimed his spot atop Ultra’s mainstage in Bayfront Park for what resolved as one of the weekend’s single most unforgettable performances. It seemed like Garrix had some sort of project up his sleeve as a way to roll them all out—like his Seven EP in 2016 and his BYLAW EP in 2018—considering he’s never been one to keep IDs in waiting for too long. And after announcing his awaited reunion with Mesto—which debuted back in October at EDC Las Vegas and now arrives under the name of “Limitless”—everyone began to connect the dots that its artwork was uncoincidentally similar to that of “Follow,” setting a lightbulb off that they were most likely the first pieces to a larger Garrix release.

Not even 48 hours later, all of that speculation was emphatically laid to rest when Garrix shared the artwork for Sentio, his second album in the last year—following AREA21—and his first album under his own name. Arriving on April 29, Sentio will most likely comprise of 10 total tracks—”Follow” with Zedd and “Limitless” with Mesto, as well as an eight-figure configuration of his remaining collaborations that include Matisse & Sadko, Brooks, Julian Jordan, “Starlight” with DubVision and Shaun Farrugia, one with DubVision from his Dutch Waters set, Vluarr, Justin Mylo and Dewain Whitmore, DallasK, Blinders, and his set finale alongside Shaun Farrugia—that will be dispersed every Tuesday and Friday in the four weeks leading up to its end-of-April completion date.

And as for “Limitless”—the second and newest Sentio delivery—Garrix and Mesto pair back up for the first time since the former’s Seven opener in 2016, “WIEE.” Clearing out both the “Summertime Sadness” and “Scared To Be Lonely” acapellas from Garrix’s sets, “Limitless” comes as the longtime friends’ most energized crossover thus far, with a beautifully placed fake-out ahead of the first drop and thunderous bassline that justly solidifies a collaborative trilogy between Garrix and Mesto, raising the Sentio excitement with every passing second.
