Taxon name: Limax (Limax) zilchi Grossu & Lupu, 1960
Originally described in: Grossu, A. V. & Lupu, D. 1960. Revision der Gattung Limax aus Rumänien, nebst Beschreibung einiger neuer Arten. - Archiv für Molluskenkunde 89 (4/6): 157-165.
Distribution: SE Romania (N Dobrogea)
Diagnosis: Slug yellowish white with grey hue, with two longitudinal rows of elongated blackish brown spots, occasionally only at posterior end, keel not very prominent, mantle large and ellipsoid, concentrically striated, sole unicoloured with 3 distict longitudinal bands.
Genitalia see Grossu & Lupu 1960.
Size: Up to 150 mm long
Biology: Restricted to forest habitats, at the soil, hides under bark and rotting tree trunks and stones, more rarely under leaves. The slug is agile, active at moist weather conditions, not very shy, continues crawling also after having been touched.
