Gibson Dunn Capital Markets Partner Jumps to WilmerHale

Feb. 25, 2020, 4:12 PM

Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr has added capital markets veteran Glenn Pollner from Gibson Dunn & Crutcher as a partner in New York.

Pollner began his legal career at Dewey & LeBoeuf predecessor, Dewey Ballantine, in 1991 and later became partner at the New York firm. In mid-2007 Pollner jumped to Gibson Dunn as a partner in its corporate practice.

For more than 25 years, Pollner has worked on capital markets transactions as well as corporate and securities law matters, representing issuers, investment banks, and investors in equity and debt capital markets transactions. Pollner also regularly advised clients on corporate matters, including disclosure and reporting obligations as well as those in connection with mergers and acquisitions and other transactions.

Pollner’s work spans a variety of sectors, including life sciences and healthcare as well as technology, financial services, consumer and retail, and REITs. Over the years his clients in the healthcare space have included UBS AG, Credit Suisse Group, MedImmune Inc., and Omnicare Inc.

In 2019 he was a part of the Gibson Dunn team that advised Trinity Merger Corp. in its merger with Broadmark real estate lending companies and management companies to form a mortgage REIT worth roughly $1.5 billion.

While he enjoyed his time at Gibson Dunn, Pollner said WilmerHale’s strengths, especially in the life sciences and healthcare spaces, dovetail nicely with his work in these sectors and make the firm “a terrific platform for a capital markets practice.”

He said he has worked across the table from WilmerHale on many transactions over the years and is now making the jump to help the firm grow its capital markets practice further in New York and its corporate practice more generally.

“Glenn is a highly skilled lawyer who brings a breadth of capital markets experience to our team,” Susan Murley, co-managing partner of WilmerHale, said in a statement. “His entrepreneurial and collaborative style is a tremendous addition to our corporate practice, and we are pleased he has chosen to join WilmerHale.”
