Although trial and travail for the original version of the all-Negro musical, "Shuffle Along," eventually resulted in triumph, a parallel set of vicissitudes has not had the same magic charm for the current edition. Presented at the Broadway Theatre last night before a host of friends and well-wishers, this "Shuffle Along" is full of warm-hearted, earnest, ingratiating performers.
