One child was killed and at least 45 other individuals, most of them children, were injured about 2:40 a.m. Monday in a bus crash on Interstate 30.
The wreck was at the 111-mile marker west of Benton, said a statement from the Arkansas State Police. A bus owned by Scott Shuttle Service of Somerville, TN, rolled off the highway.
Most of the injured were taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital, with others taken to hospitals in Saline and Pulaski counties.
Troopers said a charter bus traveling from Texas to Memphis left the roadway and overturned.
The bus driver survived and is being questioned by state troopers.
The bus was carrying a youth football team that had played in a tournament at Dallas during the weekend.
