Apart from the actual funeral at Westminster Abbey, Minister Teixeira is expected to attend a reception hosted by King Charles III for heads of government and high-level officials attending the funeral.

The BBC says the funeral service at the abbey, which can host about 2,200 people will be “one of the biggest gatherings of royalty and politicians hosted in the UK for decades.”

US President Joe Biden is billed to attend but there is speculation if he will add former US President Donald Trump to his delegation.

It is believed that the Obamas may receive a private invitation.
