Opening Spring 2023
Malachowsky Hall for Data Science & Information Technology
In the spring of 2023, the department of pharmaceutical outcomes and policy will move into the new Malachowsky Hall for Data Science & Information Technology. The new state-of-the-art building will unite UF data scientists from pharmacy, medicine, engineering and bioinformatics to create multidisciplinary solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.

Pharmacoepidemiology and Safety Sciences
Applies epidemiologic reasoning, methods, and knowledge to studies that examine the safety, effectiveness, and quality of drugs in human populations as well as healthcare systems that impact medication use.

Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research
Include studies which describe the cost, utilization and economic efficiency of pharmaceutical products and related services in the delivery of health care and the development and application of health care policy.

Pharmaceutical Health Services Research
The concentration established the competence to evaluate the quality of medication use and medication use systems, to develop target interventions for identified quality deficits, and to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of such interventions.

The UF Center for Drug Evaluation and Safety unites researchers interested in using big data to evaluate drugs and the safety of medications through drug safety initiatives in real-world populations.
