She knows how to put a chic outfit together when stepping out in the big city.

And Sunday afternoon was no different for Lea Michele who stunned in an oversized houndstooth blazer and matching skirt.

The 36-year-old New York native tucked in a strapless black bodycon top, showing a glimpse of her chest, while the slit in her skirt showcased a little leg.

She held a large black leather Bottega Veneta handbag and a pair of black leather heeled boots, adding some height to her enviable frame.

Lea seemed to go makeup free as she kept a pair of black sunglasses over her eyes, and to accessorise, added a pair of gold hoop earrings and a long gold chain necklace.

The former Glee star is playing Fanny Brice in the revival Broadway production of Funny Girl at the August Wilson Theatre.

She recently took over the role after Beanie Feldstein left the production midway through its run.

Earlier this month, Lea appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and delivered a show-stopping performance the song People from her hit Broadway show.

She told host Jimmy: 'I've been wanting to come back to Broadway for so many years... I was gone for 15 years - Spring Awakening was the last show I did.

'To be back and to be in the show that I've loved for so many years, but I'm such a fan of this production. Incredible cast. Incredible score.'

After Jimmy Fallon read some of the critical accolades for Michele’s performance in Funny Girl, the actress talked about her character on the cult high school show Glee, which had a Funny Girl arc for her character.

‘Now I’m doing it. I’m 36 now, and the story of Funny Girl spans through the course of many years,' Michele said.

'You see her love and her loss and her failures and her successes and becoming a mom and a wife… I feel like, at this point, being where I am right now, it’s just perfect. Timing is everything and I am so grateful.;

The brand-new version of Funny Girl is a bittersweet comedy about a girl from the Lower East Side who dreams of a life on the stage but is told by everyone that she will never be a star.

One day her luck changes when something funny happens, and she becomes one of the most beloved performers to ever shine on Broadway.
