1772 - 1795 Sayyid Idrus bin Sayyid 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus, Tuan of Kubu. b. at Batavia, 17xx. Established an Arab settlement near the moth of the Terentang river, thereby founded the new state of Kubu in 1772. m. ca. 1747, a daughter of H.H. Pangeran Ratu Kimas Hindi Sri Susuhanan Mahmud Badar ud-din I Jayawikrama Candiwalang Khalifat ul-Mukminin Sayyid ul-Iman, Sultan of Palembang. m. a daughter of Sayyid Sharif al-Habib Husain ibni Ahmad ba Hassan ba Alawi al-Kadri Jamal ul-Lail, Tuan Besar of Mampawa. He d. 1795, having had issue:

1) Sharif Muhammad bin Sharif Idrus al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Kubu - see below.
2) Sharif 'Alawi bin Sharif Idrus al-Idrus, Tuan of Ambawang. Unsuccesfully attempted to establish Ambawang as a separate state. m. Sharifa Aliya, daughter of Sayyid Sharif al-Habib Husain bin Ahmad al-Kadri, sometime Mufti and Hakim Agama Islam of Matan, and Tuan Besar of Mampawa. He d. at Ambawang, having had, amongst other issue, two sons:
- a) Sharif Wan Khalid bin Sharif 'Alawi al-Idrus, Tuan of Ambawang. He had issue, a son:
  - i) Sharif Muhammad bin Khalid al-Idrus, Tuan of Ambawang.
- b) Sharif Mohsen [Mukhsin] bin Sharif 'Alawi al-Idrus. Favoured the British over the Dutch, so forced to leave Kubu after the conclusion of the contract with then in 1823. Settled in Sarawak, where several of his descendants have played important roles in public life. He had issue, eight sons:
  - i) Sharif Muhammad Zain bin Sharif Mohsin al-Idrus.
  - ii) Sharif 'Abdu'llah bin Sharif Mohsin al-Idrus. m. (first) at Kubu, … m. (second) (sep.) at Malacca, after 1823, Zubaida, a widow. He had issue, three sons:
    - (1) Sayyid Mansur bin Sharif 'Abdu'llah al-Idrus. b. at Kubu (s/o the first wife). He had issue, three sons:
      - (a) Sayyid Anwar bin Sayyid Mansur al-Idrus. He had issue, two sons:
        
        (i) Sayyid Fathi bin Sayyid Anwar al-Idrus.
        
        (ii) Sayyid 'Abdu'l Latif bin Sayyid Anwar al-Idrus.
        
        (b) Sayyid Hawli bin Sayyid Mansur al-Idrus. He had issue, two sons:
        
        (i) Sayyid Alawi bin Sayyid Hawli al-Idrus.
        
        (ii) Sayyid Junaidi bin Sayyid Hawli al-Idrus.
      - (c) Sayyid 'Abdu'l Rahman bin Sayyid Mansur al-Idrus. He had issue, two sons:
        
        (i) Sayyid Idrus bin Sayyid 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus.
        
        (ii) Sayyid Muhammad bin Sayyid 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus.
    - (2) Sayyid Mohsen bin Sharif 'Abdu'llah al-Idrus. b. at Kubu (s/o the first wife).
    - (3) Sayyid Muhammad bin Sharif 'Abdu'llah al-Idrus. b. at Malacca, after 1823 (s/o Zubaida). He d. young.
    - (4) Sayyid Jalil bin Sharif 'Abdu'llah al-Idrus. b. at Malacca (s/o Zubaida). m. (first) Sharifa Selma, of Parit Sulong, Johor. m. (second) Esah. He had issue, three sons and two daughters:
      - (a) Sayyid Hasan bin Sayyid Jalil al-Idrus (s/o Sharifa Selma). He d. young.
      - (b) Sayyid Husain bin Sayyid Jalil al-Idrus (s/o Sharifa Selma).
      - (c) Sayyid Kasim bin Sayyid Jalil al-Idrus (s/o Esah).
      - (a) Sharifa Asiah binti Sayyid Jalil al-Idrus (d/o Esah).
      - (b) Sharifa Zainab binti Sayyid Jalil al-Idrus (d/o Esah).
    - (1) Sharifa Halima binti Sharif 'Abdu'llah al-Idrus. b. at Malacca (d/o Zubaida). m. at Singapore, 'Ali …
  - iii) Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman bin Sharif Mohsin al-Idrus.
  - iv) Sharif Mansur bin Sharif Mohsin al-Idrus.
  - v) Sharif Umar bin Sharif Mohsin al-Idrus.
  - vi) Sharif Ibrahim bin Sharif Mohsin al-Idrus.
  - vii) Sharif Hashim bin Sharif Mohsin al-Idrus.
  - viii) Sharif Usman bin Sharif Mohsin al-Idrus. He had issue:
    - (1) Tun Datuk Patinggi Tuanku Haji Bujang Sharif 'Abdu'llah bin Tuanku Haji Othman, OBE (c). b. at Sibu, 1898, educ. Malay Sch., Sibu. Joined Sarawak Civil Service 1934, Offcr. Sarawak Admin. Service 1955, retd. 1960, Presdt. Barisan Ra'ayat Jati Sarawak 1962-1969, Senator of Kingdom of Malaysia 1963-1969, Governor of Sarawak from 2^nd April 1969. Patron Sarawak Badminton Assoc., Sarawak Swimming Assoc., Sarawak Nat. Table Tennis Assoc, Sarawak Regattas, AAA, Sarawak Turf and Sarawak Clubs. Rcvd: SMN (1970), PSM (1967). m. 1924, Toh Puan Hajjah Rajemah. He had issue, four children and adopted four others.
3) Sharif Mustafa bin Sharif Idrus al-Idrus.
1) Sharifa Muzayanah [or Menjina]. b. ca. 1748 (d/o the Palembang princess).

1795 - 1829 Sharif Muhammad ibni al-Marhum Sharif Idrus al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Kubu. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1795. Accepted Dutch protection when he concluded a contract with the Government of the NEI, 4^th June 1823. He d. 7^th June 1829, having had issue, three sons:

1) Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman bin Sharif Muhammad al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Kubu - see below.
2) Sharif Taha bin Sharif Muhammad al-Idrus, of Kampong Sungai Pinang.
3) Sharif Mubarak bin Sharif Muhammad al-Idrus. Succeeded his brother as ruler of Kampong Sungai Pinang.

1829 - 1841 Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman ibni al-Marhum Sharif Muhammad al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Kubu. Succeeded on the death of his father, 7^th June 1829. m. Sharifa Idja. He d. 2^nd February 1841, having had issue, three sons:

1) Sharif Ismail bin Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan of Kubu - see below.
2) Sharif Hasan bin Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan of Kubu - see below.
3) Sharif Kasim bin Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus. m. a daughter of Pangeran Sharif Hamid, of Batavia. He had issue, a son:
- a) Sharif Ismail bin Sharif Kasim al-Idrus.
4) Sharif Akil bin Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus. m. Sharifa Jara. He had issue:
- a) Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman bin Sharif Akil al-Idrus. m. Sharifa Piah ibni al-Marhum Sharif Hasan 'Ali al-Idrus, second daughter of Sharif Hasan bin Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Kubu. He had issue, two children.
- b) Sharif Hamid bin Sharif Akil al-Idrus. m. Sharifa Kamala.
- a) Sharifa Saha binti Sharif Akil al-Idrus. m. Sharif Umar ibni al-Marhum Sharif Hasan 'Ali al-Idrus, fourth son of Sharif Hasan bin Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan of Kubu. She had issue, two children - see below.
- b) Sharifa Bunta binti Sharif Akil al-Idrus.
1) Sharifa Saida binti Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus. m. Sharif Muhammad Ba-Hasan, and had issue:
- a) Sharifa Saha binti Sharif Muhammad Ba-Hasan. m. Sharif Umar al-Kadri, of Pontianak.
2) Sharifa Nur binti Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus. m. Sharif Alawi, and had issue, two sons:
- a) Sharif 'Abdu'llah bin Sharif Alawi. m. Sharifa Saliha, and had issue, two children.
- b) Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman bin Sharif Alawi.

1841 - 1864 Sharif Ismail ibni al-Marhum Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Kubu. Succeeded on the death of his father, 2^nd February 1841. Installed, 28^th May 1841. m. several wives, including (first) Tengku Embong binti al-Marhum Tengku Besar Anum (d.s.p.), youngest daughter of H.H. Tengku Besar Anum ibni al-Marhum Sultan 'Abdu'l Jalil Shah, Panembahan of Sukadana, by his second wife, Tengku Jeba binti Tengku Ja'afar, eldest daughter of Tengku Ja'afar bin Tengku Musa, Tengku Panglima Besar of Karimata. m. (second) Sharifa Zina. He d. 19^th September 1864, having had issue, four sons and eight daughters:

1) Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman ibni al-Marhum Sharif Ismail. Heir Apparent. m. Sharifa Amina. He went missing in Sarawak (presumed dead), 1866.
2) Sharif Muhammad Zainal Idrus ibni al-Marhum Sharif Ismail, Tuan of Kubu - see below.
3) Sharif Said ibni al-Marhum Sharif Ismail. m. Sharifa Zina, and had issue, two children.
4) Sharif 'Ali ibni al-Marhum Sharif Ismail. m. Sharifa Marian.
1) Sharifa Nur binti al-Marhum Sharif Ismail. She d. before 1903.
2) Sharifa Dara binti al-Marhum Sharif Ismail. m. her cousin, Sharif 'Ali ibni al-Marhum Sharif Hasan 'Ali al-Idrus, youngest son of Sharif Hasan ibni al-Marhum Sharif 'Abdu'l Rahman al-Idrus, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Kubu. She had issue, three children - see below.
3) Sharifa Fatima binti al-Marhum Sharif Ismail.
4) Sharifa Amina binti al-Marhum Sharif Ismail.
5) Sharifa Rola binti al-Marhum Sharif Ismail. m. Sharif Mahmud, and had issue, three children.
6) Sharifa Zina binti al-Marhum Sharif Ismail. m. Sharif Mansur, and had issue, one child.
7) Sharifa Talaha binti al-Marhum Sharif Ismail.
8) Sharifa Mariam binti al-Marhum Sharif Ismail.
