COMPOSITION AND PRODUCTION
David Javelosa
As a composer first, and then as a technologist and producer, I have always divided the musical work I have done into two categories. In their extreme dichotomy, they would be simply Commercial and Art. But as technology and commercial venues have evolved over my years as an art composer, the work I have done strictly for art's sake has been more commercially applicable, as have my commercial assignments turned to the experimental side of things. Luckily, with web technology, I am able to cross-link and cross-reference each of these examples as they occur. Since I have made a living out of the game music I have been writing and producing for so many years, I put those on the commercial side; as I do technology demos and remixes in general. Throughout my history as a composer for mixed medias, I have worked in several areas of dance, theater, improvisation, experimental music, technology, and record production, though much of this I would have to put in the art category. Any work that I believe lives significantly in the grey area between categories, I will mark with an asterik (*) where applicable and list on both sides of the division. The work listed below are selected from a complete list.
