Marco Odermatt and Co didn’t fly over the finish jump today.
Petrus is not a ski fan this winter. Once again the weather caused the race to be cancelled. Now it’s time for the Super-G in Val Gardena, which cannot take place on Friday. First, the start is postponed by half an hour to 12:15 p.m. But then the organizers have to capitulate, the conditions do not allow a race.
After the two downhills in Zermatt, the parallel race in Lech/Zürs, the Super-G in Lake Louise and the downhill in Beaver Creek, it is already the sixth weather-related cancellation for the men this season.
After all, there is an additional rest day for Marco Odermatt and Co, which should not be inconvenient for them. Because this is how the mammoth program is streamlined a bit. Instead of five races in five days, there are now three races in a row. On Saturday, the descent on the legendary Saslong will take place in Val Gardena, before two giant slaloms will be held in Alta Badia on Sunday and Monday. (bir)
