ROCKETS' DREXLER TO HAVE KNEE SURGERY

HOUSTON — The Houston Rockets' Clyde Drexler needs arthroscopic knee surgery and might not play again before the playoffs.

Team doctor Bruce Moseley said Drexler will have surgery on his right knee this week to clean up loose cartilage and look for ligament damage.

The recovery time for arthroscopic surgery can vary from three to 10 weeks, assuming there's nothing wrong with Drexler's anterior cruciate or medial collateral ligament.

"All I can do is be angry about it," Drexler said. "The key is to get it taken care of as soon as possible. Hopefully, everything will work out and I'll be back as fast as possible."
