AEW Beach Break advertised a tag team Battle Royal, a six-man tag team match pitting Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers against Jon Moxley, PAC and Rey Fenix, Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa, Lance Archer vs. Eddie Kingston in a Lumberjack Match and the wedding of Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford.

Last week’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite garnered 734,000, barely edging WWE NXT which drew 720,000 viewers.

Chris Jericho and MJF Win Tag Team TISI Battle Royal

One of the best part of this Battle Royal was Sammy Hagar clearly having to read “AEW” because he forgot what promotion he was cutting his promo for.

The majority of these teams came from The Inner Circle and The Dark Order.

Alex Reynolds was eliminated far too early.

In the name of storyline continuity, Luchasaurus still does not have his horns.

Luchasaurus hasn’t looked this dominant since AEW still had full crowds.

Matt Jackson was surprisingly eliminated early in the match, and MJF eliminated Nick Jackson. MJF celebrated like only he could.

If AEW is trying to get The Acclaimed over as heels, eliminating MJF is not the way to do it.

Sting and Darby Allin Appear Live

Jim Ross astutely pointed out that Sting’s entrance brought about snow on the beach.

This feud has featured the most talking before the first match that I can recall in quite some time. A friendly reminder that AEW still has over a month to go until Revolution.

Dr. Britt Baker def. Thunder Rosa

I loved that this grudge match began with Thunder Rosa furiously hitting the ring and attacking Britt Baker.

Thunder Rosa dominated the first half of this match. Britt Baker got in maybe two offensive moves during the first five minutes.

An overlooked treasure in this match was Reba pantomiming knees on the outside as Britt Baker was delivering them to Thunder Rosa.

The announcers did a good job playing up Thunder Rosa going (kayfabe) limp after hitting her head against an unexposed turnbuckle.

Hangman Adam Page and Matt Hardy def. Serpentico and Dr. Luther

Matt Hardy described Hangman Adam Page as a good Carolina Boy, and I couldn’t help but wonder whether or not Page’s Carolina roots will play into the Kenny Omega storyline.

Like the carny that he is, Big Money Matt Hardy stole the deciding pinfall.

The Wedding of Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford

James Mitchell officiated the ceremony in the most satisfying surprise in this entire wedding.

“To have and to grope,” said James Mitchell.

Miro put a stop to the objection portion, leading to a Sabian surprisingly kiss the bride with no interruption.

Miro went off script and did a call-and-response with the crowd to the tune of “What is Love?”

Miro was on high alert for any shenanigans, but he overlooked the possibility of somebody coming out of the cake, which is exactly what he did during that WWE wedding he referenced multiple times in this segment.

Lance Archer vs. Eddie Kingston—Lumberjack Match

Billy Gunn threw Eddie Kingston back into the ring and Kingston responded by attacking his son.

Lance Archer teased a Blackout to the Bunny.

In something of a surprise, Bear Bronson got a plum spot when he speared The Blade through a table.

Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers def. Jon Moxley, Rey Fenix and PAC

Disappointingly, Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers came out together, meaning I was cheated out of Omega’s all-world entrance.

Rey Fenix almost flew into the crowd during a highly athletic suicide dive.

This match was nowhere near as action-packed as last week’s demolition derby main event, but PAC and Kenny Omega continued to work well together.

KENTA’s appearance will continue to fan the flames that AEW is working with NJPW. Was he the man who took out Moxley weeks ago?
