Female superstars Carly Pearce, Lainey Wilson and Gabby Barrett are taking country radio by storm with a few of their fan-favorite hits. According to a recent Tweet by the US Radio Updater, “For the first time since 2020, there are 3 solo female songs charting simultaneously in the Top 10 of US Country Radio (Mediabase).”
Barrett’s “Pick Me Up” has reached No. 4, Pearce’s “What He Didn’t Do” has reached No. 10, and Wilson’s “Heart Like A Truck” has reached No. 8.
Pearce shared the exciting Tweet to her own feed and added the caption, “LETS GO GIRLS.” This also prompted a response from Barrett who shared the singer/songwriter’s post with hearts and Wilson, who took to the comment section to write, “Let’s gooo 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻”
This news tops off a year of success for each of these critically acclaimed artists, who saw growth both in their careers and their personal lives.
On November 2, Barrett became a mom of two with her husband Cade Foehner, as they welcomed their son Augustine Boone Foehner into the world.
“Soaking up the newborn days with baby brother. What a precious gift from our Lord!” Barrett wrote on Instagram when she announced the news.
On top of her elevated mom duties, the singer/songwriter also recently teased that she’s in the process of putting together her second album.
“Album #2 at work.. 🥳😏 What do you want to hear? Who do you want a duet with?” she asked fans.
While there is no release date for her forthcoming album, the project will serve as the follow-up to her wildly successful debut album, Goldmine. Released in 2020, the album features tracks like “I Hope,” and “The Good Ones.” The deluxe edition includes her latest single, “Pick Me Up.”
Barrett is next scheduled to appear at Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio, CA on April 29 before serving as support on the upcoming leg of Kane Brown’s Drunk or Dreaming Tour.
Wilson also spent many months teasing new music before finally unveiling her latest collection on her Bell Bottom Country album. The country star served as a co-writer on each of the 14 tracks, except for one cover, allowing her to incorporate her authentic country sound with the addition of some elements of ‘70s Rock, Funk, and Soul.
The project features her chart-topping single, “Heart Like A Truck,” along with “Watermelon Moonshine,” “Live Off,” “Hillbilly Hippie,” and plenty more fan favorites.
The Louisiana native also got to share some new music during season 5 of the smash hit series, Yellowstone. She made her acting debut on the show, which premiered on the Paramount Network on Sunday, November 13.
Wilson then walked away from the 56th Annual CMA Awards with two wins for New Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year on Wednesday, Nov. 9
She is currently in the midst of her Country With A Flare Tour, which kicked off on January 4 in Spokane, WA and is set to run through March.
Last year, Pearce also got the chance to shine as she truly saw her hard work pay off. In addition to being inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, she earned two ACM wins for Female Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year for her duet with Ashley McBryde titled, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” which went on to become the Second Female Duet In 30 Years To Reach No.1, and she achieved the most-added status at country radio with her song, “What He Didn’t Do.”
The “Every Little Thing” singer also joined Kenny Chesney on the road for his Here and Now Tour, lead the CMA Award nominees and took home another win for her GRAMMY-nominated song with McBryde.
She even got to celebrate the holiday season by returning to co-host the 12th annual CMA Country Christmas alongside Gabby Barrett. The one-hour show featured festive performances from Steven Curtis Chapman, Dan + Shay, Scotty McCreery, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, Molly Tuttle, and The War And Treaty.
On February 16, Pearce will hit the road for Blake Shelton’s Back to the Honky Tonk Tour. After wrapping up that trek on March 25, she will spend the next few months performing at a variety of music festivals.
