Ok...so in this month's issue of EGM (got it free somehow), on page 151 towards the end, there's this box called Smash Bros Academy. I'm getting this game today so I will have to remember that. I think thats a cool thing for Nintendo to do; it shows they are really supportive of Sega developing games for their console. Little things like that can really help relationships with 3rd party developers. Plus it helps Nintendo equate Sega with Gamecube.

Isn't EGM one of those magazines that does their April issue way too early (like.. um... Fashion magazines) ?<BR><BR>Or could it be in the letters to do more rumor spreading?
shut has it right. If you look at the date on the unlock message, it clearly states 4-1-2002.<BR><BR>Just an april fools joke...

The first EGM April Fool's Joke I remember was a code to play as Simon Belmont in TMNT2. You had to do this rediculously long button sequence at the title screen, before it went to rolling demo. You would have to have lightning fingers to pull it off. Ah, to be young and naive again...
If you can beat 5 in cruel melee you get another trophy... it took me about 30 tries just to do that.
my little brother is friggin awesome in this game. i've never seen anyone play the way he does. i suck at it. i am good at ssb, not ssbm. i will let him do the cruel thing, and let u guys know whats up.

Dumb, dumb question, I know, but has anyone tried setting their GC internal clock ahead to April 1st, and then getting the 20 KOs at once in Cruel Melee, since this was intended for the April issue of the magazine?<BR><BR>The only reason I say this is because if there was any solidarity to the rumor (although the "in-game play" shot looks badly faked with the huge Sonic at the wrong angle), that might be a significant date, when Christmas NiGHTS was released setting the Saturn clock ahead to that (or simply waiting until then) resulted in Reala being unlocked for play.<BR><BR>I've tried it, and gotten 20 Cruel Melee KOs at total, but the most I can get at once is 8 or 9 (yes, Roy).<BR><BR>*shrugs* I know, it's not realistic, but just thought I'd make the suggestion.
