T-Mobile debuts Go5G Plus plan that allows users to upgrade their phone every 2 years

T-Mobile unveiled Thursday a rate plan that promises new and existing customers the same deals and phone upgrades every two years.

The new Go5G Plus sits at $90 per month for a single line with autopay, making it T-Mobile's priciest plan. It will be available starting Sunday, according to T-Mobile's website.

T-Mobile described Go5G Plus as "a supercharged version" of Magenta MAX, T-Mobile's current most expensive plan. Go5G Plus includes all the benefits of Magenta MAX, such as Netflix, Apple TV+ and unlimited data, and adds a few more perks, including an additional 10GB of hotspot data and extra high-speed data in Mexico and Canada.

The plan's biggest perk, however, is probably its two-year upgrade promotion. Wireless carriers traditionally offer the best deals to new customers, but T-Mobile said Go5G Plus will offer existing customers the same promotions, including the option of getting a new phone every two years.

T-Mobile goes after AT&T;

T-Mobile is also offering a limited-time promotion, called Easy Unlock, to lure customers from rival AT&T;, allowing customers to trade in eligible phones even if they're locked. And if switchers still owe AT&T; money when they cancel, T-Mobile will pay up to $650 via a prepaid Mastercard to offset the cost.

Unhappy switchers who decide to leave T-Mobile within the first 30 days will get $50 back per voice line to help with the cost of their bill.

Essentials plan price drop

For a limited time, T-Mobile is reducing prices on its Essentials plan. The new Essentials Savings option reduces the rate of a single line to $50 a month from the current cost of $60.
