Acknowledging that we must challenge extant paradigms at the structural, collective, and individual levels to reap the rewards of building diverse and inclusive learning environments, this workshop will explore theoretical and practical approaches to enhancing curricula with an eye towards decolonization. Participants will be challenged to reflect on the ways that curriculum design can privilege and/or exclude methodologies and knowledge making. By the end of the session, participants will have the opportunity to formulate an action plan for decolonizing their learning spaces and work. 

Dr. Shauna M. Morgan (she/her) is a poet-scholar and Associate Professor of creative writing and Africana literature at the University of Kentucky where she also serves as Director of Equity and Inclusion Initiatives in the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT). She is committed to fostering an environment conducive to shaping transformative academic experiences through interdisciplinary faculty development, community engagement, and innovative collaborative practices with academic and administrative units.
