2021: Competing as an amateur, knocks Shaun Murphy out of the UK Championship with a 6-5 first round victory.
2022: Reaches the last 16 of a ranking event for the second time in his career at the Turkish Masters, beating the likes of Anthony McGill and Tom Ford before losing 5-4 to Ding Junhui. Wins the World Snooker Federation Open, the most prestigious event in amateur snooker, by beating England’s Lee Stephens 5-0 in the final. That earns him a return to the pro tour. Also finishes top of the WPBSA Q Tour rankings. Reaches the quarter-finals of a ranking event for the first time at the European Masters, beating the likes of Anthony McGill and Xiao Guodong before losing to Kyren Wilson.
