*MCM EXPO 2010 May* Chasing Reimu Yukkuri RC Car(amelldansen)

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

MCM Expo was held in London last weekend, and I took along the soundcase I’d been making, but it was my friend Dnstje’s remote-controlled Yukkuri which really stole the spotlight and turned into a remote-controlled crowd of dancing otakus. ;D

Thanks to Dnstje for editing the videos we recorded!

【MCM Expo London 24-25 oct 2009】 All Caramelldansen in Nine (HD)

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Here are all the Caramelldansens which Dnstje and I recorded at MCM Expo last weekend, combined into one video! =D

Thanks very much to Dnstje for editing them all together, and even making dual-views for the parts where we were both recording at the same time!

Eye was the strongest, who also carried around around a “soundcase” (sound suitcase) which Dnstje helped me to make. It was playing the music most of the times in this video.

R/C Reimu Yukkuri at Abunai! 2009 [HD]

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Dnstje, a friend of mine, made this remote-controlled yukkuri Reimu head, which also has a speaker for playing sound from things such as an iPhone connected to the controller. A bunch of Touhou fans formed around us, so Dnstje played some Touhou-related remixes on the yukkuri as we all chased it around the various rooms of the Abunai convention, seeing everyone’s reactions. =D

The alarms at 03:13 and 03:31 were set off by the FM transmitter (controller). xD

Sorry for the many fast-forwarded clips, but it was VERY hard to squeeze about 25 minutes of footage down to the length of the song. I tried to completely remove the most boring parts, and I sped up the parts where it took a while for anything different to happen.

MCM Expo: Cirno’s Perfect Caramelldansen

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Here’s a much-needed compilation video using some of the many videos I recorded at London MCM Expo (May 2009). It mainly focuses around cute things because this video was originally going to be for the Touhou cosplayers, and… well, you know, I didn’t think soldier or Alien cosplays would fit in very well. I wonder if you can call a Dalek cute though.

The sudden song change is because Cirno’s Perfect Maths Class had so many different parts that it was too hard for me to be lazy while editing the video. I tried to at least change the song when it reached an appropriate place.

Touhou + Vocaloid cosplayers at MCM Expo

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

MCM Expo in London was held last Saturday and Sunday, and, quite awesomely, there was a group of people cosplaying as characters from Touhou Project! Here’s a bunch of pictures I took (some are screencaps from videos I recorded, so they generally don’t look as good). Please click an image to see a larger version of it.

In particular, the Suwako one is bad because that’s from the only video I ever got of her, from a distance while waiting in the ticket queue.

After seeing a box of doujinshi dedicated to the game series last October, but then not seeing a single piece of Touhou merchandise this May, I was disappointed, but these people more than made up for that. The group consisted of 3 guys cosplaying as Eirin, Yuyuko and Marisa, and 2 girls cosplaying as Sakuya and Iku (one of them was being Reimu on Saturday). There were also 2 other girls doing Suwako and Marisa, but they didn’t appear to be part of the group.

I may well upload some HD videos to YouTube, since videos just seem more realistic to me than photos, and I mentioned doing so on the Touhou Group thread on the MCM forum and no-one seems to be objecting to me doing so. However, that involves me not being lazy (at least cutting and joining the video files), so it will take me a while to do.

Oh, there were some cute Mikus too, which was cool to me, given that I’m pretty fond of her too.

Osu! – “IOSYS: Hakurei Jinja” on graphics tablet (100%, Normal) [HD]

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

On a graphics tablet~.

[Watch in HD]

I was recently introduced to the rhythm-based game “osu!”. Since it’s a clone of a game from the Nintendo DS which takes advantage of the touch-sensitive screen, I decided to try to emulate that playing style.

I know that this beatmap is really not hard compared to most, but my “Yes!” was due to the fact that this was the first time I’d got a 100% accuracy rating.

The wires coming out of the pen are soldered to the battery terminals inside, and have a D-size battery (which you can see on my desk) connected on the other end. I did that because the internal battery compartment of the pen had a connection so bad that the tablet was simply unusable when using it.

I don’t think I have the input/song sync set correctly since there is quite a noticable delay between pressing the pen and the game detecting that (you can see, and even sometimes hear the tapping at times, in the video). I set the offset to the same as what I set StepMania’s to, and, since both games use DirectSound, I thought that that would make the offset perfect here too, but clearly that’s not the case.

Big update to my guide for LD2 Touhou character mods

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Well, I hate to bang on about something which is not a lot of Touhou fans’ cup of tea, but I’ve updated the guide. I mean… a lot, this time. Now you can easily find the character which you want, and can easily see the date on which each mod was last updated. I updated and added several new ones – here’s the list:

Added: Shikieiki, Lunasa, Kaguya, and a new “tank-head” Reimu.

Updated to latest version: Sakuya, Hong (“China”), Patchouli, Reisen (“Udonge”), Suika, Chen, and both versions of Marisa, ze.

My usual bleeper fanatics will return very shortly, with the MIDI Input support as promised. =D

StepMania (x3, Heavy) : [Touhou] IOSYS – 月夜を隠さない程度の能力?

Monday, May 5th, 2008

I know it’s not much compared to most of the Touhou stepfiles out there, but for me, this is an achievement. xD

Recorded with my DCR-TRV270E camcorder, and Audacity on the computer recording live audio.
Video screen-in-screen effect applied with Premiere. Notice that the original camera view at the start has the monitor image quite small, and I zoom into it with Premiere. That’s why the main image becomes a bit pixellated, but the keyboard view stays good quality (because I didn’t zoom into that view – I wanted it to remain small).

The song and stepfiles are in the Touhou StepMania pack 01, which you can download here. (255.24 MB!!)

Reimu Tries Out “Hax Sign 「Burn Everything」” in GTA-World

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

EDIT: I’m making the voice mod be available for download, even though it’s not complete. Please read included ‘Info.txt’ for a lot of info about it.

Here’s the link.
(5.55 MB, sorry for slow download speed.)

Yeah… I made it up as I went along and worked out what she could be saying later and edited that in.

It’s a character mod of Hakurei Reimu from the Touhou series, within ‘Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’. Also noticable is an anime-style voice mod I’m in the process of making; and, the police are Suika, because… well, why not? Just replace the sake for doughnu– uh, I’ll just stop here. I didn’t show off the characters or voice well though — I’ll do that in another video. I just wanted to jump on the Hax Sign bandwagon…

I did not make the character model mods. I am making the voice mod. And yes, there are several cheats (or as Reimu would probably prefer, ‘haxes’) going on in the video. =D

IF YOU DON’T GET IT, look at the past Flash animations at the brilliant http://www.walfas.org . You’ll notice Reimu has more than a slight tendancy to start fires.
