Sargeant played his debut season on the pro tour in 2019-20. He earned his stripes by finishing top of the Challenge Tour rankings in 2018-19.
He won the first Challenge Tour event, beating Luke Simmonds 3-1 in the final, and also reached the final of event five.
Sargeant won his first match as a pro, beating Ashley Carty to qualify for the 2019 Riga Masters.
In 2018 he reached the last 32 of the Gibraltar Open while competing as an amateur.
In 2020 he reached the last 32 of a ranking event for the first time at the Shoot Out, beating Eden Sharav and Ali Carter before losing to Shaun Murphy.
