Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar, who made a special appearance in the recent blockbuster 'Jailer' starring Rajinikanth, expressed his happiness over the success of the film. He also said that he would be interested in being part of a spin-off of his character Narasimha from 'Jailer'. In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, he also shared his thoughts about the overwhelming reception to his cameo role.
SHIVA RAJKUMAR TALKS ABOUT 'JAILER' SPIN-OFF
In 'Jailer', Shiva Rajkumar played a cameo role alongside Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff. He essayed the role of a reformed criminal, Narasimha, who helps Tiger Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth), a retired jailer. Despite a small cameo, the actor's portrayal of Narasimha instantly won hearts and soon many fans requested a spin-off for his character, Narasimha.
Now, addressing it, the actor responds, "I don't mind. I really don't know how it works. Nelson Dilipkumar (the director) should create and have that idea, because, after the success of 'Jailer', he has got more responsibility for his next film. But, there was one sequence, which was supposed to be shot in the prison, but then later he said 'not necessary sir'. So, I don't know what will happen about that. If it is on the same line, then I don't mind at all. Having said that, Nelson is very good at portraying such grey characters."
SHIVA RAJKUMAR OPENS UP ABOUT 'JAILER SUCCESS
Talking about the overwhelming response to his cameo in Rajinikanth’s blockbuster film, 'Jailer', Shiva Rajkumar said, "I never expected it, it was a surprise for me. My wife also asked me, 'What did you do?', 'Why this response?', 'What is happening with you?'. I said 'I don't know why this is happening'. But, everybody is surprised with the response to the film. Sometimes, we don't know what people/audiences like. There is some magic that the director would have created, Anirudh's music would have been created and the presence was also very different - all this could have worked for the film, I feel."
On a concluding note, Shiva Rajkumar said, "It's fun to do action, especially when it's a baddie, action comes naturally with the attitude and the swag. So, its always fun to do action."
