The next time folks on a certain swath of the Upper East Side feel a rumble beneath their feet, they won't have the Second Avenue subway to blame.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said Friday that blasting has been completed on the first phase of the city's long-awaited subway line, which is scheduled to begin operation from East 63rd Street to East 96th Street in 2016.
