Published biannually by the Anderson Center, Great River Review is the state's oldest continually published literary magazine, publishing essays, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and translation. The journal began publication in 1978 and has received the Minnesota Book Award and several Pushcart Prizes. Great River Review has published some of the finest writers in the country and abroad, including Ted Kooser, Robert Bly, Philip Levine, and Linda Pastan.
