His successful leading ladies - Madhuri, Manisha and Meenakshi - all have names that begin with the letter M. So what does Bollywood director Subhash Ghai do when faced with a Ritu Chaudhry, his latest find who stars inPardes? Well, he simply renames her. And she transforms into the exotic Mahima.

The showman, however, brushes aside the coincidence: "It's all for fun's sake." But Mahima's name is not the only bit of fiction. All the talk of her being a new face is a bit thin too, for among others she's been the Pond's Dreamflower girl and co-anchor to Roshan Abbas in Liberty Public Demand. But at least the image is new and the starlet is obviously relishing her new (there's that word again) avatar.

After all, Mahima's latest mantra is "I'm only 16". Not satisfied with that, she adds: "I will remain 16 for the next 12 years after which I will retire at the age of 17."

Ghai, of course, has been laying on the hype, to the point that co-star Shah Rukh Khan quipped: "I wish I had a launch like her's." Now if only Mahima can have a career like his.
