    Residents in Crystal can nominate their great neighbor for the "Neighbors Recognizing Neighbors" award. Now in its eighth year, the award honors and thanks great neighbors in Crystal. If you have a kind and thoughtful neighbor who helps out, volunteers in the community or was there in an emergency, the city wants to celebrate them.

    Presidential Nomination Primary

    ​The Presidential Nomination Primary (PNP) is Tuesday, March 5, 2024. In-person absentee voting for the PNP is Jan. 19 - March 4 at Crystal City Hall, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Weekdays: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; March 2: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.; March 4: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Voters can fill out their ballot from home with an absentee ballot by mail. For convenience, voters can also request an absentee ballot application online.

    Organics Recycling Charge

    According to state law, garbage haulers that have an additional charge for organics recycling must charge all its customers the same, whether or not that customer participates in organics recycling. Local governments cannot opt out of the state requirement that haulers charge all customers for organics recycling equally, nor do cities control the amount haulers can charge.
