Weapons
Introduction - Drakan features more than 50 unique weapons including projectile and melee. Many weapons will become common, but there are also many rpg style weapons and unique weapons that you will only see once. In multiplayer however there will be a standard set of ground weapons and a standard set of projectile weapons, to allow deathmatchers to gain skill in certain weapons. The easy-to-use inventory allows you to see the power, durability, range and if applicable unique power. Your dragon companion Arokh will be able to use various types of breath weapons to destroy your enemies from the sky.

Atimar's Blade - Atimar's blade is your starting weapon and is one of the only 4 weapons that are indestructible. You should stop using it for killing the moment you find another weapon but it should be kept to break barrels which might contain health potions.
Mithril Short Sword - You'll only find this weapon once but you'll get good use out of it. It is the first armor piercing weapons you'll find and is very useful during the beginning of the game when the enemies are weaker. It is extremely fast but is very limited in range.
Club - The Club does very little damage and is very weak. Only use this weapon if you have nothing more then Atimar's blade.
Scimitar - This is the rare weapon that does a very small amount of damage but is very effective. You can swing this weapon very fast and hit an enemy repeatedly before they can get one good swipe at you. If used properly with the hit and run tactics it can be very effective.
Sting - Unlike many of the other weapons you'll only find this weapon once. Basically this weapon is a short mithril sword but much more powerful. The downside with this weapon is it is very weak and won't last very long.
Duncan's Battle Axe - Duncan's battle axe is the same as the regular battle axe but is very weak but for good reason. You'll find this weapon very early in the game but you'll only be able to use it for a short period of time before it breaks.
John The Monster's Axe - This weapon is the same as the battle axe but is extremely weak. You will only receive 12 or so hits with it. You should either pass this weapon by or use it right away until it breaks so it doesn't take up any valuable inventory space.
Rusty Axe - You will only be able to use this weapon for a rather short period of time. It should be used until it breaks, which won't be long since it's rusty. It does average an amount of damage and is good during the earlier portions of the game.
Battle Axe - While this weapon has a slow speed and medium range it packs a punch. This is the perfect example of speed and range sacrificed for power.
Iron Battle Axe - The iron battle axe is in every way the same as the battle axe but is not half as durable.
Vykruta's Axe - This weapon is extremely useful if used properly. It has the power to summon powerful lightning bolts that can kill multiple enemies simultaneously. Along with the 25 lightning bolts you can dish out some pain with the regular axing. It is very powerful with the only drawn backs being it's slow speed and lack of the armor piercing ability.
Lightning Axe - The lightning axe is nearly the same as Vykruta's axe but is less powerful and has only 5 lightning bolts. It's much more durable then Vykruta's axe so you can be used normally for much longer.
Mithril Axe - With the armor piercing abilities this weapon is very useful. It can dish out a lot of pain but doesn't have a long range. Like most other axes it's very slow. If you're fighting a fast enemy you'd be better off using a faster weapon.
Axe of The Order - The axe of the order is the same as the mithril axe but is faster. It's also a lot less durable then the mithril axe. If you still have the mithril axe in your possession when you retrieve this weapon you'd be better of passing this one by.
The Cleaver - This is the most powerful of all your axes. It's identical in every way with the mithril axe besides in power.
Mace - The mace has a medium amount of durability and swung at a medium speed. You will only find this weapon near the start of the game and should be tossed the moment you fine a more powerful weapon.
Mace Of Hand - This weapon is very useful with its armor piercing abilities, and its above average amount of damage. It's very durable so can be used until a better weapon is found.
Death Mace - This is one of the better weapons in the game and so isn't found until past half way. It is extremely fast and is a great weapon to use because it does quite a bit of damage and can pierce armor. The only draw back is its extremely limited range.
Grungle's Hammer - You'll have to beet up one big scary Orc to get this weapon. It does a ton of damage and is armor piercing. Like the other hammers it has long range but is very slow.
Battle Hammer - The battle hammer does a medium to large amount of damage but is extremely slow because of its massive size. It has a long range and is very durable.
Iron Hammer - This weapon is as slow as they come but makes up for speed with its range. Compared to the weapons later in the game it's not very powerful but during the earlier stages it's the second most powerful weapon. Once you find this weapon hang onto it until later in the game, most enemies will die of a single well-placed blow.
Long Sword - Typically about three feet long, the long sword is a great balance between range, damage, and speed. There are many variations of this weapon including the flame sword and mithril long sword, seen below.
Ancient Long Sword - This weapon is the same as the mithril long sword but is very weak. You'll find it earlier in the game but it will break fairly soon.
Mithril Long Sword- The mithril long sword is in all ways the same as a long sword but has armor piercing abilities. Since armor is useless against this weapon it's a favorite for taking on the Wartoks that wield large amounts of armor.
Great Sword - This is your longest, heaviest, slowest, sword. While it's not the most powerful weapon it's very useful. You'll probably be using this weapon quite often. With its long range nearly all of the enemies won't be able to touch you unless they have a projectile attack.
Giant Slayer - The giant slayer is nearly the same as a great sword but is slightly more powerful and is less durable. Naturally it's great for taking out Primitive Giants along with any other enemy.
Mithril Great Sword - This sword is used throughout a lot of the game. With its armor piercing abilities it is effective against all enemies. The only downside to this weapon is it's speed. It is extremely slow compared to many of the other weapons, especially the maces.
Sword of Flame - The sword of flame is nearly the same as the long sword besides the obvious flame powers. After slicing an enemy with the flame sword they will remain on fire and continue to perish. This weapon aldo has the magical ability to summon a fire ring that comes from the center of the sword getting larger as it travels along the terrain, for a short distance. Nearly anyone caught in the fire ring is sure to die.
Flaming Sword - This weapon can only be retrieved after killing a Crimson Knight. It is the same as a sword of flame but is slightly more powerful and is much less durable. In the later levels this sword is extremely common and is usually just passed on.
Mourn Bringer - The mourn bringer is a truly unique weapon. It is one of the indestructible weapons and for good reason. Every time you hit an enemy a small portion of your health is restored, making it one of the best weapons. If you are low on health elixirs this should be your weapon of choice. Not only can this weapon restore your health but it is also one of the most powerful weapons. It does lag behind in speed but that is soon forgotten.
Dark Scimitar - This weapon is medium-fast and does an average amount of damage. While this weapon sounds good it's not extremely useful against most of the enemies you'll be facing when you receive it, it is great against the weaker enemies that pose less of a threat.
Sword of Resentment - This is your second most powerful weapon in the single player portion of the game. Like all weapons it has its downside. Every time you hit an enemy a small portion of your health is drained. While the enemy you're fighting will be severely injured. If you have health potions you should use this weapon for its power, but if you are lacking in the health potion area stay away from this weapon for you could kill yourself with it.
Sword of Ice - There is no other weapon quite like this one. It has the ability to cast a defensive globe of snow that forms around you. If an enemy is touching the globe for long enough it will freeze them in their tracks leaving them at 1 hit point. The globe can also repel projectiles flying through the air in your direction. Often a primitive giant will send a giant snowball in your direction that will shatter as it hits the globe, leaving you unharmed. You receive 5 charges with the sword, each lasting 1 minute. The sword itself cannot kill anyone but can only freeze them to 1 hit point giving you enough time to switch to a different weapon for the final kill that will shatter your enemy into several frozen pieces.
Runeblade - The runeblade is the most powerful weapon you will receive, unfortunately you receive it at the very end of the game giving you time to kill only one enemy. While this sword is basically a mithril great sword that is much more powerful and much prettier, it's most people's favorite weapon.
Regular Bows - This is one of your long range weapons capable of taking out virtually any enemy from a distance. There are three types of regular bows, speed, heavy and long. There are 5 types of arrows for you to fire, each with its different strengths and weaknesses. Once you have fired an arrow into an enemy you are able to extract it out of the dead corps or wall, if you missed. Some of the arrows you try to extract may break into pieces and fall to the ground.
Speed Bow - The speed bow can fire arrows faster then any other bow and do it accurately. You may be able to fire arrows almost as fast with a long bow but your accuracy would be greatly affected. However the speed bow is much less durable then a heavy bow.
Heavy Bow - The heavy bow is twice as durable then any other bow. It's by far the bow of choice for people who wish to use arrows on everything and anything that moves. However if you're the type of person who conserves their best weapons for a tougher situation you may want to use the speed bow for it can destroy the enemy quicker if used properly.
Long Bow - This bow has no real strengths and no real weaknesses. Once you have found either the heavy bow or the speed bow this one should be replaced. It is not as durable as a heavy bow and not as fast as a speed bow.

Arrows - There are 5 types of arrows, each has it's own weakness and disadvantage. You more powerful arrows should be saved for the more difficult areas while the weaker, less powerful arrows could be used virtually anywhere. Arrows are you're ultimate weapons, almost any enemy is easily killed with them.
Regular Arrows - These arrows only do 10 damage but are great for taking out the weaker enemies.
Flaming Arrows - While these arrows do the same amount of damage initially as the regular arrows once an enemy has been hit with one of these they will slowly burn to death.
Poison Arrows - These arrows do the same thing as flaming arrows but can do more damage once the enemy is infected.
Magic Arrows - These arrows are very slow through the air but once they have hit the ground its attack spreads out for a small distance. It's much easier to hit moving targets with this type of arrow.
Ice Arrows - This type of arrow can't completely kill an enemy but can only freeze the enemy. Once an enemy has been frozen they will only have 1 hit point making them extremely easy to finish off.
Explosive Arrows - This is your most powerful arrow. You'd be best to save this type of arrow for the tough enemies since it dishes out a lot of damage. The only downside to this arrow is it takes long to reload.
Energy Bow - This is the only other type of bow but is an extremely useful weapon. You cannot collect arrows for it and you cannot use it for more then 50 shots. It shoots colorful bolts that do the same amount of damage as the most powerful arrow and more damage then most melee weapons. If you find this weapon do not pass it up.
Multiplayer Only Weapons
Kalkuta - This is usually your starting weapon. Like all starting weapons it basically sucks. The only time this weapon would be useful is to finish off enemies who have been frozen by the axe of frost.
Maul - Nothing more then a weak weapon. Don't use it unless it's your only weapon (besides the starting one).
Axe - Much like the Maul but a faster weapon. Don't use it unless you have to.
Flame Axe - This weapon is like the flame sword, but is an axe. Not only can it set opponents on fire when hit, but it also has a several magic charges which spread fire across the terrain. Anyone caught in the flames is almost guaranteed to die.
Axe Of Frost - The axe of frost cannot actually kill anybody but can freeze them in their tracks for a few seconds, leaving them at 1 hit point. This gives you enough time to finish them off with any other weapon, no matter how weak it may be. The axe of frost also has an ability similar to the flame axe but instead of killing the player with a flame they will be frozen for a few seconds, leaving them completely vulnerable to attack.

Thunder Hammer - The thunder hammer is a slow but powerful weapon. While it is powerful it doesn't armor piercing abilities like most other weapons. This is a major drawn back since almost every time you meet an enemy they will be wearing armor. However it has the power to cast powerful lightning bolts, capable of hitting multiple opponents with one shot. These lightning bolts are very powerful and often kill people in a single shot.
Soul Taker - This weapon does tons of damage, but also takes away some of your own life force. This weapon glows red in the dark and smokes.
Life Giver - The life giver is the exact opposite of the soul taker. While it doesn't do as much damage as the soul taker it revives a small portion of you health.
Crypt of Defense - This is the only weapon in multiplayer that has defensive powers. By itself it's merely a medium powered mace but with its powers you can cast a defense globe that will hurt anyone who steps within its boundaries. Each charge will last approximately 1 minute and you can only receive more charges by finding the weapon again. Every time you use the defensive glob it will get stronger and harder to penetrate.

Dreadnaught - Though this monster of an axe is not magical, it is incredibly and has the nice side effect of knocking opponents off their feet. It's the most powerful melee weapon in multiplayer Drakan, capable of completely disintegrating your enemy in one blow. The weapon is practically living, and growls when you attack with it. But it's extremely rare and doesn't last very long, so it must be used wisely.
Ground Pounder - On master of the dragon levels you start with this bow. If you're fighting against the dragon try and get the dragonstrife, it inflicts much more damage. On regular level you'll also find this weapon and it can be very useful. It doesn't cause a lot of damage compared to many of the other weapons but with its range no one will be able to reach you.
DragonStrife - This is the ultimate bow. It's only found on master of the dragon levels and is extremely powerful. Don't waste your bolts on people, save them for the dragon since he has fireballs. This will probably be your only real chance to kill the dragon.
Dragon Breath Weapons
Bite - If you're using this attack you probably shouldn't be. To your amazement biting enemies is not as useful as roasting. It's more or less a novelty attack.
Flame - This is your starting breath weapon but is useful through the entire game. Primary fire is a beautiful fireball capable of hitting targets from a long range. While secondary fire is a flamethrower type effect that is extremely useful for taking out land dwelling enemies. Simply get close to the enemy and let it rip.
Poison Gas - This weapon is useful for hitting enemies deep inside caves or hiding behind unreachable objects. Its secondary fire shoots a gas ball that if angled properly will bounce a few times before settling down. If fired into a small cave it will have a very good chance of hitting an enemy. Primary fire shoots a gas ball straight, much like a fireball but a poison gas ball. It's not advised to use this weapon in air combat because of its slow rate of air speed.
Ice - This primary fire for the ice shoots a large ice ball capable of freezing enemies. After an enemy is frozen they will not die but will have one hit point left. They must be finished of with a shot from any other weapon. The secondary fire is very useful in air combat. It shoots 3 smaller sized ice balls that track onto the enemy. Once a dragon is frozen they will either have to be finished off with another weapon or they will fall to the ground and shatter.
Lightning - The lightning weapon is both useful for air and ground opponents. Secondary fire will shoot a large lightning ball with bolts shooting from all directions that will shock anything near. Primary fire can link multiple ground enemies together instantly frying them. While primary mode is useful against land threats, it's very difficult to hit air targets.
Magma - This is your most powerful dragon weapon. It will only take a couple shots to kill any enemy with it. Once an enemy has been hit with it or has even been close to it they will be on fire and will continue to burn, eventually killing them. It may take a while to master this weapon but once you find it don't stop using it.
