Warwick
This historic centre of Queensland's Southern Downs is also the
Rose
and Rodeo capital of Australia. It may sound like an unlikely combination,
but Warwick is a city of surprises.
Covering an area of 4,725km², Warwick Shire has a population of more than 21,000 and services an economic catchment area of 55,000 people.
For visitors...take a walk in the wide streets of this pioneering settlement and
view some of the State's finest original sandstone buildings. Or
stroll through Leslie Park and treat your senses to the beautiful
roses, including the red "City of Warwick" rose (Arofuto).
Just don't think that Warwick Shire only offers an historic experience
- the Shire also boasts an impressive range of sporting and cultural
facilities.
The townships of Allora and Killarney also offer a number of natural
recreation attractions and visitor experiences to delight one and
all.
