Dangerous buildings
The control of dangerous buildings and structures forms a very important element of the building control service. Dangerous buildings should be reported to Building Control on 0161-793 3685.

Dangerous dogs
If you know the owner of a dangerous dog, you should report them to the Police.

Data Protection Act
Salford City Council is fully committed to compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 which came into force on 1 March 2000.

Day centre
Day centres offer vulnerable older people the opportunities to take part in activities, meet other people, have access to chiropractors and have a well-balanced, hot meals.

Dead animals
The city council is able to provide a dignified collection service for dead animals - either found dead at home or reported as found dead on the street or in a public open space.

Salford Welfare Rights and Debt Advice Service (SWRDAS) is an advice service for people living or working in the city of Salford. If you do not live or work in this area, we can put you in touch with an advice service appropriate to your needs. Advice is available in English, Urdu, Punjabi and Arabic.

Decisions of the council
The council has adopted a new Constitution in accordance with the Local Government Act 2000. In accordance with the Constitution, the council publishes decisions made by the Cabinet, an individual Member of the Cabinet, a Committee of the Cabinet or under joint arrangements. These decision notices will be available at the main offices of the council normally within two days of being made and are also published on this web site.

Demonstrations and parades
In special circumstances roads are closed to allow sporting events or parades to take place. If a road needs to be closed off, a temporary road closure is required.

Previously called the Orange Badge Scheme, this provides a national arrangement of parking concessions for disabled and blind people. It allows holders to park close to their destination. These pages provide information on who is eligible for a blue badge and how to apply.

Dog breeding
