Technical Presentation

Located within the Schinias National Park, which has been included in the NATURA2000 network of protected sites, the development of the Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Center is considered to be one of the most significant environmental projects in Greece. The centre offers the foremost competition facilities in the region which consist of observation towers, a grandstand, boathouses and a guesthouse. The basin is filled by local natural springs and has played an essential part in the restoration of the area’s wetland. The centre is an ideal venue for educational environmental programs and research and activities related to the sustainable development and preservation of the greater Schinias area.

Located 43 km from the centre of Athens, the venue can be reached via Attiki Odos ring road and the Schinias – Marathonas road.
