The 2007 NCLR ALMA Awards
Hosted by Eva Longoria

You saw, you voted, and we heard YOU.

Selecting a favorite among the showcase of gowns from Latino designers worn by Eva Longoria proved to be a difficult task. It appeared all gowns, or maybe Eva Longoria in all the gowns, were favorites. Nonetheless, the results were tabulated and while many were high vote-getters, the result--drum role please, designer, Esteban Cortazar, dress # 9. Cortazar who is Columbian born and Miami raised is a son of an artist and a jazz singer. He is well known for his glamorous gowns with Spanish influence made in luxurious fabrics and bright colors.

This was closely followed by gowns numbered 7 and 2, by designers Oscar de la Renta and Carlos Miele, respectively. Oscar de la Renta, whose work has been featured for over four decades, is well known for his brand of ladylike elegance, delicate and opulent designs made from the finest materials. Miele, a Brazilian born designer, uses the influence of traditional Brazilian artisans in crafting his designs and is known for colorful and sexy designs.

We thank all the wonderful designers who worked with Eva Longoria to demonstrate their talent and craft by dressing our fabulous host from head to toe. The dresses, purses, shoes and jewelry were all amazing.

And, thank you for your vote and for viewing the 2007 NCLR ALMA Awards. Your support allows NCLR to showcase the talents and contributions of Latinos in the arts and entertainment industry. To view the photo gallery of the dresses, click on the image located at the right side of the page.
