VASHI
Vasi (T. Pen, p. 1,669, RS. Mumbra, 39 m. N). The place is
known for its temple of Mahesvari Goddess. In historical times Suryarav Despande, a Nizamshahi Sardar, died in a battle at this place where a Sankar temple was subsequently erected in his memory.
