Highlight of the Day 2 at Wordpress Wordcamp India meet was Pavan Duggal's lucid and interactive presentation on 'Copyright and IPR Issue'. The focus was on emerging media and the problems associated with ownership and distribution rights. Of cybercrime and friendly legislation

In the last week of December, 2008, the Parliament of India has passed the amendments to the Information Technology Act 2000, which is popularly known as Indian cyberlaw. The IT Amendment Act 2008 brings about various sweeping changes in the existing Cyberlaw.

NEW DELHI:The government plans to introduce a legislation empowering software makers in their fight against the sale of unauthorised copies of their products, as it looks to crack down on rampant piracy in the country where nearly three-fourths of the software used is pirated.

Technology and crime a deadly combination

When the attackers arrived on the shores of Mumbai last month, they had studied satellite images of the city, were carrying handheld GPS sets and were communicating with their handlers via the Internet and satellite phone.
