CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE HEADLINES

1.) Home Cooking in Odessa
2.) Quite Franckly
3.) Welcome Back Mac

1- The Odessa Jackalopes are one of just two CHL teams yet to play a home game but that comes to an end on Friday when the Jacks host the undefeated Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at the ‘Jack Shack’.  Odessa is 4-1-0 on the season doing quite well away from home.  Their eight points are three more than the second place New Mexico Scorpions in the Southwest Division.  RGV has not played on the road yet and enters Friday’s game with a 3-0 mark.  The final CHL team to play at home will be Rapid City who does not open the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Arena until Saturday, November 29th.

2- OKC Blazers goaltender Andy Franck has been the hottest netminder in the league posting a 4-0-2 record with a 1.28 goals against average (second in the CHL) and a .944 save percentage (third in the league).  He is coming off a week that saw him go 2-0-2 losing in shootouts to Mississippi (2-1) and Colorado (3-2).  He is the reigning Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week and this week he’ll be tested versus Rapid City on Friday and at Corpus Christi on Saturday.  Dating back to last season, Franck is 13-0-3 in his last 16 decisions.

3- Former Mississippi RiverKings head coach Kevin McClelland returns to the mid-south for a pair of games this weekend with his new team, the Colorado Eagles.  He posted a 100-77-15 record in his three seasons behind the bench for the ‘Kings leading them to the post-season in each of his final two seasons there.  The Eagles come into the weekend with a 7-0-0 record.  The RiverKings, now led by Kevin Kaminski, are 8-6-1 all-time versus the Eagles.
