We feature "Teacher-Driven" Scripts
Since 1988, Scripts for Schools has attempted to meet needs of teachers who e-mailed and told us the kinds of scripts they were looking for. Our scripts are teacher-driven. Primary teachers wanted readers theater scripts featuring teaching themes, repetition, rhythm, rhyme, and a spirit of fun. Intermediate teachers asked for content and subject related materials.
And, when possible, we actually create scripts to meet a specific request! Recently we've had requests for more choral speaking/reading scripts and are busy developing a more extensive catalog in that area. In recent years, we've also added a limited selection of puppet plays, more traditional performance play scripts, and a series of "Shortened Shakespeare" scripts for Jr. and High School students. We continue to grow and appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Lois Walker, BA, MA: Lois is the publisher of Scripts For Schools and is a writer, teacher, and Canadian television personality. She is the creator of 4 successful television series for children, including Tell-a-Tale Town, which has been syndicated internationally, and Hands Up! Hands On!,which won a CAN-PRO Gold Award for excellence in Canadian Children's Programming.
Her Readers Theater stories, scripts and books have been published and featured worldwide by leading educational publishers, including Contemporary Drama Services (USA), Ginn, East/West Publishers, Taiwan, Pearson Australia, and Scholastic, among others. She recently returned from Taiwan where she conducted Readers Theater workshops in 7 different cities for more than 800 Taiwanese EFL teachers. Over the years, Lois has been seen regularly on YTV, CanWest Global Television network, and the Educational Channel, BookTV.
