Stephen Twigg ousted by David Burrowes with 8.7% swing

The Tories have regained Enfield Southgate, ousting schools minister Stephen Twigg, who famously seized the seat for Labour in 1997.
Mr Twigg was one of the star's of Labour's 1997 landslide win, when he defeated Michael Portillo.
Last night, David Burrowes beat Mr Twigg with the Conservatives polling 18,830 - 44.6% of the vote - with a swing of 8.7% in the north London seat.
There were 17,083 votes for Mr Twigg, down 11.3%, with 40.5% of the count.
Ziz Kakoulakis, for the Liberal Democrats, came third with 4,724 votes, which represents 11.2%, up 4.2%.
In 2001, Mr Twigg was appointed deputy leader of the Commons. During the 2002 reshuffle Mr Blair made him an education minister and he was promoted to schools minister in another cabinet shake-up in December 2004.
Mr Twigg is a former president of the National Union of Students and has worked as parliamentary officer for charities, as an assistant to Labour frontbencher Margaret Hodge and is also general secretary of the Fabian Society.
