Wolves Trade Green to Rockets

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Thursday that the team has acquired 6-6 guard Kirk Snyder, a 2010 second-round draft pick and cash considerations from the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard Gerald Green.

Snyder is in his fourth NBA season and holds career averages of 6.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game in 184 career appearances. A University of Nevada alum and the 2004 Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Snyder was selected by the Utah Jazz in the first round (16th overall pick) of the 2004 NBA Draft and has spent time with Utah, New Orleans and Houston during his career. Snyder has appeared in nine games for the Rockets this season, averaging 3.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 9.0 minutes per game.

In his first season with the Wolves, Green averaged 5.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 29 games. The 18th overall selection by Boston in the 2005 NBA Draft, Green was acquired by the Timberwolves last summer as part of the deal that sent Kevin Garnett to the Celtics. He holds career averages of 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 142 games.
* Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale will be available to the media outside the Timberwolves locker room at 6:45 p.m. prior to tonight's game vs. San Antonio.
