Dodds is the oldest of five children, three of whom are half brothers and sisters. She was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and has also lived in Rawson, Ohio, where she graduated from Cory-Rawson High School.

Dodds also has been heavily involved in singing and comedy acts as well as small improv groups and has a following on youtube.com.

After high school, she attended the University of Findlay, in Findlay, Ohio. She was a computer science major and economics minor. During her time in college she was involved in Summerstock Theater Programs in which she starred in several shows, including "The Will Rogers Follies" and "Born Yesterday". She left university to follow her career in modeling after she was discovered at a ProScout event in Columbus, Ohio in September 2001. From ProScout, Dodds was signed with Paulines Agency in New York and Aria in Chicago. Dodds modeled in New York, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cleveland before auditioning three times for America's Next Top Model in 2003 and 2004, finally getting called back in her third attempt.

Dodds was also a big sister in Big Brothers Big Sisters and makes university and charity appearances to speak to the students and talk about the show and self esteem.

[edit] America's Next Top Model

Dodds was a contestant on America's Next Top Model, Cycle 6. On the show, she received five first call-outs, three covergirl of the week awards, and won one challenge. She was also never placed in the bottom two at any of the elimination ceremonies. Despite these achievements, although all the judges stated that they loved her portfolio, she did not win the competition; finishing runner-up to Dani Evans.

Her modeling career has taken her to Hong Kong, Macau, Milan, London, Sardegna, New York, Vienna, Miami and Los Angeles, doing everything from Print, Runway, Commercials and more. She has made appearances at New York and LA Fashion weeks for the last 5 years.
