Difference Between Genuine & Forged Dragon Stamps

To identify the positions of sanko, mozo, and mihon on the common "signed" forgeries, click on the buttons for each dragon type at the left. Below are some other general characteristics that may help identify some "unsigned" forgeries.

48 Mon & 1/2 sen: All except 3 positions of the 48 mon and 1/2 sen dragons have a secret mark of two dots in the bottom left raimon.

100 mon & 1 sen: All except 3 positions have a two dot secret mark on the left side middle raimon. Notice the difference between the space under the chin and the antenna of the right dragon. Also the nails of the claws are more pointed in the forgeries than they are in the genuine.

200 mon & and 2 sen: The nails of the claws are more pointed in the forgeries than they are in the genuine.

500 mon & and 5 sen: The nails of the claws are more pointed in the forgeries than they are in the genuine. The claws are a different shape.
