Overview

There is a chill wind blowing through Millennium City. The moon has taken on a sinister aspect, staining the sky a bloody red. The superhero Witchcraft, of the Champions, warns that this is a dire portent of an approaching mystical threat. There have been sightings of strange creatures emerging across the world, those of savage werewolves and flesh-craving zombies. Even worse, they bear with them the tidings of a great evil returning to the world... Takofanes, the Undying Lord!

When Takofanes last strode across North America he killed all who crossed him to swell the ranks of his undead army. The first attempt America's superheroes made to stop him resulted in the death of half a dozen of them. A second more concentrated attempt managed to drive Takofanes from the battlefield, but he could not be defeated. Now Takofanes has returned once again with hordes of his minions, citing prophecies of doom and proclaiming his coming reign over humanity!

Events

During the normal monthly version, there are 3 different events. Though, with the 2011 annual version, trick or treating was added, bring the total events to 4. However, the the trick or treating is not something that will occur during the monthly version.

It should be noted that all enemy encounters are classified as "scary" meaning their power scales versus the level of the attacking hero and they do not have a technical level.

Dawn of the Dead Heroes

Takofanes has trapped the souls of the Heroes who fell during the Battle of Detroit and are commanding them to spread ruin across Millennium City!

Takofanes' Crypt Entrance

There are 13 fissures to Takofanes' crypts located all over Millennium City. Each of these fissures acts like an Open Mission in that in order to gain access to the crypt, you must defeat the required 50 zombies and then the Undead Hero at that particular location. These Undead Heroes are best handled in groups, as they are Super Villains and there are hordes of zombies to go along with them. Upon defeat of the Undead Hero, you are awarded a Perk for that Hero and the fissure turns into an entrance, allowing you access to the crypt through a mission by clicking on the interact button where the hero was defeated. Once inside the crypt, you must fight your way through more zombies to free the soul of that Undead Hero. You must free each Undead Hero's soul in order to obtain the In Memoriam perk. The crypt is an instance and even though multiple people will be entering the crypt, you (or if you are on team) will have your own instance. It is important to note that once you acquire the mission to free the undead Hero's soul, you can then enter the crypt anytime and are not required to defeat the undead hero again.

The undead heroes and the critters inside the crypts are considered scary monsters. This means that during the open mission portion of this event, heroes of all levels can participate and will be equally effective. Inside the crypts, the critters will scale to the level of the hero. It should be noted however, that the open missions are located in all three of the neighborhoods in Millennium City low level heroes should use caution in higher level areas.

Below is a list of all 13 locations of these fissures. As of 10/28/09 each fissure is on a 1/2 hour timer. Please note that clicking on the loc will show you a map with the exact location of each fissure.
