One of the oldest companies in the nation, the Opera has played host to numerous big names, including Placido Domingo and Lily Pons. A friendly and encouraging atmosphere makes a trip to the opera in Fort Worth enjoyable, not only for true connoisseurs of the art, but for beginners as well.

In 2007, Fort Worth Opera condensed its entire schedule to an annual spring Fort Worth Opera Festival - with all of its performances presented at Bass Performance Hall or the McDavid Studio over a four-week period and multiple operas performed each weekend.

In addition to the annual Festival, Fort Worth Opera boasts a highly successful opera education program. The Children's Opera Tour brings the exciting and colorful world of opera to over 50,000 school children each year across the state of Texas, providing a personal experience with classical music and drama for many elementary and middle school students.
