Welcome to the Mercurian Empire Library Wiki!.

This Library for the Mercurian Empire is young and in an active state of being developed. With that said, this main page is currently designed to help players write their lore, rather than help outsiders read it. But this will change in the future.

Tutorial for making your Lore

For registered users of the forum only: To gain access to authorship, attempt to log in and then request an account. In the request, mention your forum user name and forum email (don't worry, it is private, but used for confirmation to prevent spammers).

We will pay (in the game) for users who chronicle histories, lores, cultures, events, items, or characters from around our world into this portal. If there is something you think people will look up commonly, feel free to great creative.

Ultimately it will be collectively 'massaged' by the community, with special authority given to kings, to keep the rich and varying cultures from becoming inconsistent from one another. Good sources to find more lore is the brief historical timeline and the forums.

We have slowly started implementing templates. This is complicated stuff, so only dabble with new templates if you are comfortable. We currently have a 'realm' template.

Steps to using a template:

  1. Go to Marvia, a great example to use for the nation information box. For a general layout, Channoria is a good reference as well as the Kingdom of Minerva.
  2. Go to Edit
  3. Copy the code (do not edit or delete the code! as this will change Marvia's info!)
  4. Go to the search bar and type your new realm, it will say (not found, create page?). Click that.
  5. Paste the code, and begin customizing.
  6. Know your ranks, and ask the Regent or (mods?) to help set up your titles and things if you are unsure. E.g., don't call yourself a kingdom if you are not.
  7. To add content to the rest of the page (outside of the infobox) just start adding text below the first batches of code.
  8. Have questions? Visit here. http://www.projecthermertia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=97

Note: For continent, put 'New Hermertia' or 'Old Hermertia' with no quotes

What page should I start with?

If you are a realm already, start with that and put "Realm" or "Kingdom" (without quotes) as your status.

Newcomers: It is recommended you start with the level that you will consider to be your primary title. For example, if you only aspire for a city-state, make your first page the name of your city-state or faction. If you are interested in establishing a realm and eventually a kingdom, start not with your first settlements, but instead your future nation's name (usually based on the region, but not necessarily).

NOTE: If you don't have images yet, but still want to see what the formatting is like use:

  1. File:NoCrest.png
  2. File:150^2NoFlag.png
  3. File:500x333NoFlag .png

What to do with my highest title and lower titles?

  1. Only sovereign titles have 'capitals' (a field in the template). In here, place the capital city. If this is not your highest title, place 'Part of (insert realm name)'.
  2. Under 'Native Name' put 'Sovereign Crown' if kingdom, 'Sovereign' if a realm, and 'Unofficial Title' if your borders have not yet been ratified and your status has not yet been legalized.
  3. What about the cool ethnicity names we used to have here? Under 'footnotes', only for the highest title, put the breakdown of ethnicities.

How do I format the page?

How do I upload images?

Please be considerate with our web space, thanks. Uploads are for wiki-images only, not general uploading. Like wikipedia, consider using smaller/crappier quality images where possible.
