She won't blend in with those! Katie Holmes dashes around in camouflage high heels while taking Suri to school

She usually takes a fuss-free approach to her wardrobe, but Katie Holmes decided to spice up her casual ensemble on Friday.

The actress emerged in the early hours of the morning in New York, and was seen dashing around in a pair of high heels.

Katie added inches to her already impressive 5ft 9in height with a pair of camouflage print court shoes that had a spindly stiletto heel.

The 34-year-old’s outfit was otherwise low-key, but she highlighted her fantastic figure with a pair of skinny jeans that were so tight they almost looked sprayed on.

She was trying out the difficult look of double denim, with a pale shirt that clashed the colour of her jeans.

But apparently feeling the chill, Katie slipped a short-sleeved olive green knitted jumper over the top.

The Dawson’s Creek alum tied her brunette locks into a messy updo and covered her make-up free face with large sunglasses.

Despite her treacherous footwear, Katie appeared to be in a rush so hurried back to her vehicle after dropping daughter Suri at school.

The seven-year-old miniature fashionista looked cute as usual, sporting a black shift dress and boots, white tights, a pink jacket and a big red bow in her dark hair.

On Wednesday Katie showed she is her own best advert as she attended the launch of Alterna Haircare’s Bamboo Style Dry Shampoo Scents, by the brand she is a co-owner of.

Katie appears to be relishing dressing for the autumn and wore a below the knee dress, black tights and ankle boots for the occasion.

It’s a busy time for Katie, as along with juggling life as a single mother to Suri with her promotional responsibilities, she is making a return to the big screen with a bang and has four movies in the pipeline.

Up first is Days and Nights, the modern adaption of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, co-starring Alison Janney and British actor Ben Wishaw, which follows an American family battling love and desire over one Memorial Day weekend.

In August, Katie was busy filming Tootaloo - previously called Miss Meadows - in Cleveland, the low budget Hollywood indie where she plays a school teacher who moonlights as a vigilante.

Earlier in the summer, the star filmed Paul Dalio's Mania Days In New York, about two depressed lovers who form a bond after meeting in a psychiatric hospital.
