Estonia’s Minister of Agriculture Helir-Valdor Seeder and Mr Ruve Šank, Head of the Foreign Affairs Department, visited the German Federal State Schleswig-Holstein from 12 to 14 July 2013. The visit took place by an invitation of the Minister for Agriculture of Schleswig-Holstein.

On 9 November 2014, the world celebrates the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The PeaceBread Initiative seeks to demonstrate the connections between peace-keeping and the role of agriculture in people’s well-being.

In January 2013, Helir-Valdor Seeder, the Minister of Agriculture, visited Saxony and met Frank Kupfer, the State Minister of the Environment and Agriculture, in Dresden.

On 18–19 April 2013, an international discussion forum Agroforum Balticum – Food and Agricultural Potential of the European Region, organised by the Estonian University of Life Sciences and the Saint Petersburg State Agrarian University in cooperation with the Estonian Ministry of Agriculture and the FAO, took place in Tartu, Estonia.

Addressing the Parliament of Estonia, Helir-Valdor Seeder, the Minister of Agriculture, told that Estonia must ask itself where is the balance between industrial production and traditional family farms and how to maintain food production and the more purposeful use of land resources.
