Top actors So Ji-sub and Kong Hyo-jin will come together to portray romance in a new TV series.

The two stars have been cast in an upcoming SBS series named “The Sun of the Lord” [translated title] which is set to air in August, the drama’s promoter 3HW said in a statement last week.

The romantic comedy, containing a touch of horror, will center around a cheap and self-oriented boss named Joo Jung-won, played by So of SBS series “Phantom” from last year, who puts a price on every relationship.

Kong, returning to the small screen for the first time in two years since smash hit MBC drama “The Greatest Love,” will take on Tae Gong-sil, the secretary who is gloomy and easily moved to tears due to her ability to see a ghost.

“Though horror is one of the genres I am scared of, my character and the drama’s story was too attractive for me. I also feel a bit of a burden since it’s my second project with the Hong Sisters but I’m sure it’ll be a distinctive, fun and memorable drama,” Kong was quoted saying the same day in a press release from her agency Soop Entertainment.

The ‘Hong Sisters,’ namely Hong Jeong-eun and Hong Mi-ran of hit SBS dramas “You’re Beautiful” and “My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho,” also wrote “The Greatest Love.”

The upcoming show will be directed by producer Jin Hyuk of Lee Seung-gi’s “Brilliant legacy” and Lee Min-ho’s “City Hunter.”
