It's been over six months since he announced his amicable separation from model wife, Miranda Kerr.

But the pair might soon clash over their plans to bring up their son, Flynn, after Orlando Bloom revealed his desire for his son to school in England.

The actor, 37, opened up about his wish for Flynn to not only receive a British education, but to also have some experience living in England and see it as his home.

Speaking to The Times, Orlando said: ‘I’d like him to have some experience of living at home - in England’.

Born and raised in Canterbury, Kent, Orlando is just one of the many A-list stars who have a preference of raising their children with a British education.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star is currently sharing parental responsibilities with his estranged wife, who recently revealed she has cut back on her own workload in order to look after her child.

The model has constantly been seen spending quality time with her three-year-old son as the pair are often seen out and about in New York where Miranda conducts most of her business meetings.

Meanwhile, Orlando is keen to put his hectic globetrotting days behind him for his son as he added: ‘I’ve lived a very nomadic life, which I enjoy.

‘But now that I have my son it gets a lot more serious – I want to be in his life and have as much input and influence on his life as I can’.

The actor also revealed that he was 'grateful' at being able to have a drama-free separation from his wife of three years.

He added that while the former couple's differences in what they aimed to achieve in life had become a challenge in their relationship, both are focused on doing what is best for their child.

Orlando said that he felt it was important for the pair to respect each other for their son's sake.

And it’s not just his son whom he wishes to inspire as the actor joined fellow stars such as Seth Rogen and Selena Gomez at the first We Day California on Wednesday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

Over 16k youth attended the event hosted by Free The Children, with tickets being earned through the youth participating in one local and global community projects.

The actor gave an uplifting speech in which he urged the youth in attendance to treasure life and make the most their opportunities.

That would be tough for Miranda, she needs to be in the States really for business. I'm sure it is something they will both talk a lot about

Good for you Orlando. British education will teach him more about the history of the world. In Australia they insist on teaching a Australian history which, at best, could be condensed into a 30 minute PowerPoint presentation. Aussie kids grow up without any sense of history whatsoever. Don't get me started on English Literature ...

I'd put my faith in Americas education system much more than I would ours!

I don't know why people are assuming he is going to boarding school. How odd.

If you're a wealthy actor and the mother of your child is a wealthy model, than you can pretty much send your child to the finest schools wherever they are. The best schools in America, UK, or anywhere else are pretty much on par, whether it's Philips Andover, Eton, etc. At a university level it's like comparing Harvard and MIT to Oxford and Cambridge. His preference for an English education probably has more to do with his affection for England than anything else.

Wasn't Flynn born in NYC? If so that makes him an American even if he doesn't want to be! He so cute and there are lots of good private schools in the U.S. you just need the money to get in and they have it.

These are all good reasons not to marry so young, before you've had a chance to understand what's important to you. Persons who marry across cultural, religious and national lines are all at risk for family chaos, Sometimes the children are never seen again.

Well wherever they decide to educate their son, let's hope he learns his basic manners from his dad. Miranda could have at least thanked Orlando for opening the car door! Can't stand bad Manners!
