Spring has sprung as crocuses break through the melting snow outside the Max Kade House on campus. Block 6 is over, signaling the beginning of Spring Break.

Journalist and author Hampton Sides, left, visits a Block 6 radio journalism class taught by National Public Radio Senior Producer Peter Breslow. The course, says Breslow, is “soup to nuts how to produce and report for radio – from simple 45-second new spots to highly produced stories with multiple scenes – and everything in between.” Breslow, teaching at CC as part of the new Journalist in Residence Program, has a roster of NPR guests addressing the class: Sports Correspondent Tom Goldman; Investigative Correspondent Daniel Zwerdling; Southwest Correspondent John Burnett; Weekend Edition Host Scott Simon; Special Correspondent Susan Stamberg; Movie Critic Bob Mondello: and Alix Spiegel, host of Invisibilia.

The CC men's lacrosse team took on visitors CSU-Pueblo at Washburn Field on Feb. 20. The Tigers defeated the ThunderWolves 24-5.

Devaka Premawardhana’s Block 5 Religion and Colonialism course recently traveled through Pueblo communities in New Mexico. The students heard directly from American Indians about their people's experience of Spanish and American colonialism, and witnessed the creativity of their religious responses. Hundreds of community members joined the Colorado College community at the All People's Breakfast in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the El Pomar Sports Center. The event included keynote speaker Rev. Benjamin Reynolds, director of the LGBTQ Religious Studies Center at Chicago Theological Seminary.
