Ben Affleck has denied a new report claiming he is dating his children's 28-year-old nanny.

The 42-year-old actor only announced his split from wife Jennifer Garner - the mother of his three children Violet, nine; Seraphina, six; and Samuel, three - last month but Us Weekly claims he has already moved on with stunning Christine Ouzounian.

However, in a statement released to MailOnline, a representative for Ben denied the story and said: 'It's garbage'.

His team also told Us Weekly that 'all allegations of a romantic relationship are baseless and untrue'.

And a rep told the New York Post's Page Six: 'The story is complete garbage and full of lies. You shouldn't be able to hide behind 'blind sources' and attempt to destroy families going through a difficult time. The tabloid [Us Weekly] decided to construct stories in order to sell magazines. Us Weekly reports Ben and Christine met when she was hired to care for the children while Jennifer and Ben were undergoing a secret 10-month trial separation and it wasn't long before things turned flirtatious.

Denial: Ben was quick to deny Us Weekly's cover story

A source said: 'They would hang out without the kids. And they were very flirty.'

And Christine - who was hired from a Beverly Hills agency - was quoted as telling friends that 'this is true love'.

The publication claims that Christine was fired by Jennifer, 43, after she discovered how well the pair were getting on but she remained in contact with Ben and spent time with him in Los Angeles on July 17.

Christine, who Us Weekly says is a California native who graduated from a communications course at Arizona State University, has been pictured with Ben while caring for the children but he has denied a relationship.

Ben and Jennifer announced their marriage was over just one day after their 10-year anniversary and promptly jetted off to sit out the storm with their young ones in the Bahamas.

A source told People that Garner is taking extra special care of her children during this difficult time and being very open with them.

'She's such a good mom and she's honest with them – she's not sugarcoating this,' said a friend of the actress.

'She has risen up in this situation. It's unbelievable.'

Meanwhile, the Town actor has been hit by allegations he cheated on his wife on numerous occasions during their decade long marriage.

Reports claim tension between one of Hollywood's favourite couples was mostly the result of the actor's inability to take control of his vices, mainly women, alcohol and at times, gambling.

Multiple sources have said Garner felt she had no choice but to leave the Argo star after years of troubles.

The actor had a 'candid conversation' with his wife where he admitted he had not been 'committed to the marriage in the last few years', People reported recently.

The magazine added his alleged womanising was a big factor in Garner's decision, with a source saying: 'There comes a time when enough is enough.' The publication reported that Affleck has denied being unfaithful.

Another insider was less delicate with their wording, telling Us Weekly: 'The reason they split is because of Ben's drinking and his infidelities.'

One time, after rumours of him hooking up with a younger co-star emerged, Garner reportedly packed up her kids and moved cross-country to keep and eye on him.

An insider told Us Weekly that sometimes the actor would confess his transgressions and beg for forgiveness which would lead to the actress resolving to try and make the marriage work.

According to one source, Garner revealed in the past year that her husband had 'admitted to cheating' with one 'comely brunette love interest'.

Garner reportedly kicked him out of their home in Pacific Palisades but eventually forgave him.

And despite rumours of 'one-night stands with random women', whenever Garner considered walking away, she'd think of their three children.

A source close to Ben told DailyMail.com that when it comes to allegations of cheating: 'We are yet to see any facts. He's a dedicated father and family guy.

'He's never not been dedicated to his family and the fact he is in Atlanta now with the kids is an example of that.'

And the source stressed that while many are quick to blame Ben: 'There are two sides to every split.'

To that end, sources form Team Affleck's camp maintain that the actor 'never felt perfect enough' for Garner no matter how hard he tried and it was an 'extremely controlling environment'.

In addition to reports of inappropriate behaviour with other women, sources suggest that Affleck's drinking had spiraled out of control in recent years.

After a rehab stint for alcohol dependency in 2001, the Town actor was thought to be virtually sober throughout his marriage to Garner but insiders say he hid drinking from his wife.

His boozing then became progressively more public over the last few years.

While filming Gone Girl, the actor is said to have drank to get into character as Nick, telling Details magazine that according to the book he was supposed to be 'puffy and hungover' and that he 'dedicated himself to that'.

Affleck's heavy gambling also hit headlines in recent years as he was spotted at various Detroit casinos gambling the night away as he stayed in the state during filming of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

A Garner source also revealed the movie star 'had a habit of going missing in Vegas for days at a time.'

And so after a decade of struggles, years of couples' therapy and a recent 10-month trial separation the former Alias star decided she'd had enough.

In the weeks running up to their shock announcement, Garner had reportedly been hesitant to go public with the news.

Meanwhile the Gone Girl star was spending most nights at the nearby Hotel Bel-Air.

The duo, who met on the set of Pearl Harbor in 2001 before falling in love during the filming of 2003's Daredevil, were married in June 2005 while the actress was already pregnant with Violet.

But after weeks of speculation Affleck and Garner said in a joint statement on June 30: 'After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce.

'We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time.

'This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.'

Affleck and Garner - who are allegedly worth $150m between them - are said to be using a mediator and business managers ahead of the divorce and plan to share custody of their children, according to TMZ.

The pair are continuing to share their 8,800 sq ft mansion in Pacific Palisades, California, in the meantime so that Affleck can remain close to the kids.

He has also been spotted in Atlanta where Jennifer is filming the new movie 'Miracles From Heaven'.

Both Jennifer and Ben have been seen still wearing their wedding rings as they work together to ensure the children are coping with the split.
