Democratic presidential candidate and frontrunner Hillary Clinton had a big day on social media on Thursday, May 21, 2015. First, Clinton joined the job search site LinkedIn posting her profile and articles about her commitment to small business in the morning. Then in later in the afternoon Clinton's campaign announced on Twitter that her official campaign launch event and speech will be held on June 13.

Clinton is expanding her social media presence by joining the job search site LinkedIn. Her campaign made the announcement on Twitter on Thursday morning, "Hillary's on @LinkedIn! (You may have heard-she's looking for a new job.) http://hrc.io/linkedin" LinkedIn is a "social network" site for job seekers. Presidential candidates have used it, but as The New York Times noted "few engage it frequently."

Clinton posted her resume, describing herself as "Wife, mother, grandmother, women and kids advocate, FLOTUS, FLOAR, Senator, Secretary of State, dog person, hair icon, pantsuit aficionado, 2016 presidential candidate." Clinton included her education, her publications and most of the previous positions going back to her early jobs as a "staff lawyer for the Child Defense Fund and an attorney for Rose Law Firm" to her current one "2016 Presidential Candidate." There was one glaring omission, her failed run as a Democratic presidential candidate in 2007 to 2008.

The 2016 Democratic candidate also published an article to her profile entitled, "Four Ways to Jump-Start Small Business" where she detailed she wants "to be a small business president." The article detailed her four proposals to boost small business, including, "cutting the red tape that holds back small businesses and entrepreneurs, expanding access to capital, providing tax relief and tax simplification for small business, and expanding access to new markets." The article comes two days after she held a small business roundtable in a Ceder Falls, Iowa bike shop.

Clinton's campaign also announced on Twitter Clinton's official launch event, "Get excited: Hillary will be making her official campaign announcement speech at the first big event of her campaign on June 13th." No location was mentioned in the announcement. The event is the biggest and most public since Clinton officially declared she is a candidate with a video on April 12.

In the six weeks since she has mostly travelled to the early primary states, holding "small events" and "roundtables," in fact Clinton only had her first mini press conference on Tuesday, May 19 where she answered six questions from the press. Until then Clinton is continuing her tour going on from her two-day trip to Iowa to New Hampshire on Friday, May 22 and then on to South Carolina on May 27.
