SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: Facial attraction of Streep doubles

Guests at the New York premiere of Far From The Madding Crowd, which stars Carey Mulligan and Michael Sheen, could have been forgiven for thinking they had spotted Hollywood superstar Meryl Streep on the red carpet — not once, but twice.

It was not Streep, however, turning heads, but two of her three lookalike daughters, Mamie and Grace Gummer.

The girls, whose father is the sculptor Don Gummer, have followed their mother into acting, albeit with varying levels of success.

Mamie, 31, landed her own U.S. TV series three years ago, but it was cancelled after just six weeks.

Grace, 28, has also had roles in a handful of TV shows, including American Horror Story. Streep also has a third daughter, 23-year-old Louisa, a model, and a son, Henry, 35, a musician, who has released an album under the name Henry Wolfe.

Last year, Mamie, Grace and Louisa appeared together in a fashion campaign for Swedish brand & Other Stories, but they have some way to go before they rival their mother (inset), who won the first of three Academy Awards in 1979, aged 30.

She has also been nominated 19 times for an Oscar — more than any other film star.

 

So that's how Pippa's rear stays in trim 

It’s the bottom which launched a thousand websites. So there was no mistaking Pippa Middleton as she was spotted going for a workout in London this week.

Her Royal Hotness paid a visit to ultra-fashionable Chelsea gym kx — pronounced ‘kicks’ — which counts the likes of Daniel Craig and Gwyneth Paltrow as members.

With annual membership costing £6,000 — as well as a £2,000 joining fee — prices at the West London sweatbox are also suitably buttock-clenching.

When it comes to property, Kirstie Allsopp’s mantra is ‘location, location, location’ and it appears the TV presenter applies the same adage to tattoos.

‘Having masses of tattoos on your face does not encourage people to take you seriously or think you would make a good employee,’ she says. ‘It may be prejudice, but it’s true and we should be honest with our kids and friends.’

It seems the only ink Kirstie is comfortable with is the arts and crafts kind.
